 What's New at Preservation Hall: Summer 2008

Summer will soon be officially here, the temperatures are now into the 70’s and we’ve occasionally reached the 80’s. The Spring Weaverville Art Safari was another success; we really enjoy seeing everyone that stops by during the event.

We outdid ourselves a few weeks back by purchasing the largest selection of vintage cabinet doors that we have ever had, most are sets of two, but it includes a set of four & a set of eight. Many have beveled glass which is quite unusual. These are by far some of the nicest pieces we have seen.

We also continue to bring in more beautiful doors; one handsome oak door with oval beveled glass will grace a new family’s front entry. Others, with great character, will be destined for doors inside someone’s home. This shipment includes items from late 1800’s to the 1920’s. Presently, many are being stripped of their old layers of paint & we expect them to be available in June.

As a new service, we now have an electrician doing contract work in our store to repair vintage lighting. The ability to have onsite fixture rewiring & repair for our customers is a great convenience.

Along with our large inventory of old vintage hardware we have added a line of high quality vintage reproduction hardware for doors, cabinets, furniture & more. We do not think you’ll find better quality at a lower price than these restoration items.
